The José Antonio Echeverria Higher Technical University located in Havana will reopen the Career in Geophysics in the coming academic year.

The daytime career will be given in the Faculty of Civil Engineering, where hydraulics workers will be trained, the Trabajadores weekly reported on Monday.

The geophysics has a broad and necessary application in gas and oil prospecting, search of solid materials and subterranean water, and the building.

According to the weekly, the career will be reopened because it is important for many economic spheres in Cuba. Geophysics can also contribute in archaeological and burial removals, marine and environmental researches.
