Oslo,for the first time, the theater of the New Opera of the Norway capital city, received in their stages an exponent of the so called popular music, the Cuban singer Omara Portuondo, in a fact that reveals the artistic hierarchy of the Diva of the Buenavista Social Club in this country.

The singer traveled through her repertoire of Cuban songs with the full power of her voice and the peculiar phrasing of her songs in front of a public that filled the 1,300 seats of the beautiful building and gave her a standing ovation.

Some hours before the concert, Omara and her musicians talked in the Cuban diplomatic seat with Rogelio Santana, the Cuban ambassador and with prestigious cultural personalities of the northern country.

The Oslo presentation was followed by another very successful concert in Lillehammer. The Omara tour will continue in April, through another eight Norwegian cities.
