Cubalum and Sigmaplast companies signed a letter of intent to create a joint venture to produce flexible printed materials and polyethylene.

  Cubalum belongs to the Poligraphic Union of Cuba and Sigmaplast is a Dominican mercantile society, stated the Cuban embassy's source that published the information.

The future company will bring profits for both parties because Sigmaplast will have access to a broad market, to which it will supply raw material and inputs, as Cubalum will have cutting-edge technology and will reduce costs of import-substitution in areas remotes from the territory.

One of Cuba's intentions is to supply its internal packing market and provide inputs of its bulk internal market.

Both parties will immediately begin the trade and technological cooperation by exchanging technical information and supplying necessary consumables that guarantee the production, which will lay the foundations to set up the mixed company, the report stated.
