Cuban Judo Federation named Yanet Bermoy and Oscar Braison as the best athletes in that discipline this year.
Bermoy got silver in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, has gotten excellent results this season with five gold titles, one silver and three bronzes. She also got silver at the Judo World Championship Rotterdam 2009 in Holland.
Braison, Beijing bronze, got six gold medals, three silver and three bronzes. He got silver at the Grand Prix 2009 Hamburg and bronze at the World Cup Men, Budapest, Hungary and at the Grand Slam, Tokyo, Japan. He, over 100 kg, ended fifth in world
rank.
According to Cuba News Agency (AIN) other outstanding judokas were Idalis Ortiz, Oreidis Despaigne, Kaliema Antomachín, Yurisleidis Lupetey, Yasmani Piker and Arley González.
Alex Garcia was selected the best in the junior category.
Bermoy and Braison 2009 results gave them the opportunity to be the most outstanding athletes in judo in Cuba.
