More than 837 thousand dollars saves the refinery of oil Sergio Soto from Cabaiguán municipality on having applied the concept of replacing of imports, when from January, 2008, it started producing oil for its employment in the transformers of electric power.
Rafael de la Grana León, general manager of the refinery "Sergio Soto", informed that the oil is produced from the hydrocarbon extracted from four deposits located in Majagua, in Ciego de Avila province, and with it the cost of production diminishes to 50 per cent of the price at the international market.
The first tests of the raw material derived from the Cuban crude oil initiate in an experimental way in 1990, but from the beginning of last yea, technological improvements have been applied to the industry, the industrial production of this type
of oil is endless.
