Documentaries are strengthening its identity in the coming Havana festival, they have been Underestimated in the big international events, 24 movies from Latin America, Europe, Asia and North America will be competing from December 3 to 13.

The genre, which is closely related to journalism, especially with reports, has re-appeared with strength in the last few years due to the social, political and ideological crisis that are shaking the world and are making the movie maker register with the camera in their hands, its incidences, to go deep into its causes and the see the warning signs.

In the competing list there stands out Brazil with five movies and Mexico with the same number and two more that are joint productions with the United States.

There are also duets of productions joined in the same effort, an increasing tendency over the last few years and the stronger and stronger presence of women, in this case, two directors from Mexico and one from Peru.
