Cuban Contemporary Dance will perform the plays Mambo3 XXI, by the Cuban choreographer George Céspedes and Casi-casa by the Swedish Mats Ek as a world premiere.

Both staging will take place coming December 4 at the García Lorca hall, Gran Teatro de La Habana.

Mambo Tercer Milenio Siglo XXI is a divertimento in the context  of a Disco or Fiesta House, where the music by Pérez Prado elates to contemporaneity thanks to Céspedes's creativeness followed by well known dancers from the Cuban group and
electro-acoustic players.

Mambo 3XXI, with music by Alexis de la O Joya and Edwin Casanova, was also announced for the United Kingdom and Spain in March 2010.

Michel Avalos, Heidy Batista, Yosmell Calderón, Yaday Ponche and Jennifer Tejeda form part of the list of dancers who will undertake Mambo Tercer Milenio, an opening to new sounds and rhythms for which they are using resources such as industrial electro-acoustic of the 1970´s.

Also, Casi-casa, a creation by Mats Ek, will come on stage with the support of the Ludwig Foundation. Here his creations of The  Apartment and Fluye all come together with music by FleshQuartet.

Lasting 45 minutes, Casi-casa includes a double cast, in which dancers unfold every night in a set of just 11 dancers.

After three weeks at García Lorca Hall both proposals will be enjoyed at La Caridad Theater in Santa Clara, next December 22 and 23.

Casi-casa will be presented in the United Kingdom, Spain and Poland from February 20 until March 29, 2010.

Mats Ek was born in Malmo, Sweden in 1945 and he has worked as a stage director for the Puppet Theater, for the Royal Drama Theater from Stockholm and he was also hired by the Ballet Cullberg as a dancer and choreographer.

He has also performed as a dancer for the Deutsche Oper am Rhein from Düsseldorf-Duisburg.

He was hired as a dancer and choreographer by the Nederlands Dans Theater from The Hague in the 1980-1981 season and in 1988 he was named artistic director at the Cullberg Ballet, a position he kept from 1993-1994.
