A diverse cultural activity has already been designed for the date.

Artists inspired in Cuban literature and theater characters will liven up the streets of its historic site in the festivities for the 490 Anniversary of its foundation.

Starting on the morning of November 16, date of the anniversary of the renowned novel "Cecilia Valdes" of writer Cirilo Villaverde, "Cecilia", its main literary character, will wander around city squares and parks.

The famous "El Caballero de Paris" (The Knight of Paris), slaves and women from the colonial times will also claim live, said Jose Perejil, one of the organizers of the festivities.

Concerts of "Habaneras", a typical music genre, with the participation of Maria Eugenia Barrios and Barbara Llanes are among the scheduled events.

The book "La Habana, Ciudad Azul" (Havana, A Blue City) by Cuban writer Julio Rensoli will be launched. There will also be a jazz concert to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Benny More"s birth.

In addition, there will be a painting exhibition based on erotic poems by Cuban late writer Luis Rogelio Nogueras (1944-1985).

The program includes a film week dedicated to moviemaker Enrique Pineda Barnet on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of his film "La Bella del Alhambra", (The Beauty of the Alhambra) which was inspired in Miguel Barnet's novel "Canción de Rachel" (A Song to Rachel).

A gala with characters from theater works such as "Andoba" and "Santa Camila de la Habana Vieja" will close the festivities.

Nobel Havana offers its visitors the enchantment of its architecture and culture.
