The 6th International Conference on Accounting, Auditing and Finances began at the Convention Center in Havana with the participation of more than 400 accountants, auditors and financiers, including over 100 specialists from nearly a dozen countries.

The first day of the event included discussions on the current international financial crisis and its effects on the Cuban economy.

The meeting is organized by the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC), which celebrated its 30th anniversary on Sunday.

Lidya Esther Rodriguez, President of ANEC and also of the organizing committee of the event, explained that delegates are exchanging experiences and results of researches in the field of accounting and finances in the context of a complex world situation in which it is essential to resort to more efficient methods in order to achieve better economic results.

As has now become a tradition, the 9th Cuban-Dominican Congress of Accounting, Auditing and Taxation takes place in parallel with the International Conference on Accounting, Auditing and Finances.
