An official note from the organizers of the event announced that the French team, which accumulated 1000 points and three catches, was followed by Wet Dream of the United States and by Havana of Spain.

With this result, the French squad has won the competition on three occasions, which, according to the event’s set of rules, allowed them to engrave their names on the Cup of the tournament.

Another French competitor, Francois Gerard April, won the award for the first catch while Team 18, with the English boat Marlin XI, won the award for the biggest catch (17.65 kg).

The event was attended by 120 participants who competed in 21 teams from 12 countries, including Russia, France, the United States, Canada, Spain and Holland.

The “Ernest Hemingway” International Marlin Fishing Tournament, in honor of the famous American writer, was first held on May 26, 2950, and it is one of the oldest of its kind around the world.
