In Havana Klímax far beyod the progressive Son
"The fact that the values of the Cuban dance music are unique does not means that it has to sound always similar”, he says while announcing the concert he will offer at the Salón Rosado Benny Moré (La Tropical).

There, they will celebrate the fourteen of interrupted work with the Klimax band and the Cubadisco 2009 Award to the Best Recording for Solo tu y yo (Bis Music), a merit shared by Orestes Águila, Ahmed Fernández, Yusef Díaz and Piloto.

“It wont be a dance concert – clarifies the director of Klimax – we have conceived a show that can be enjoyed in another way, with some of the themes of the record, a continued song I have prepared to review some of my themes, which were popular some time ago, which will have the help of Leo Vera, the premiere in the Cuban capital of a very actual Son, by Noel Diaz, dedicated to the resistance vocation of the Cuban women. The name of the song is Lola, which has been very successful in other Cuban cities. An idea of the show can be given by the song La Permuta, the opening theme of the record, which video clip will be premiered that day. Another important part of the show will be dedicated to baseball with the song Dale cuantros malas, especially dedicated to the team Habana, which won the championships, and to the fans of Industriales, a team that needs new airs.

About a decade ago, when the international tours of Klimax stand firm, Piloto characterized the style of his band with an ingenious phrase: “We do a progressive Son”. Now he is adjusting his sentence: “Our base is the Cuban music, but we want to go a bit further, without betraying our essence”.
