The official inauguration of the event was presided over by Amado Acosta, delegate of the Tourism Ministry in Matanzas province, who highlighted the importance of the Fair, which will also benefit tourists in the beach resort of Varadero, he said.
The inaugural gala of the event included the lecture. The Importance of Wine for Modern Restoration, given by Cuba five Master Sommeliers.
Afterwards, participants were invited to tour the exhibition areas of the Fair in several halls of the Convention Center.
Other activities took place on Wednesday such as a workshop on Wine and Health as well as two key lectures: History of Wine in Cuba and Technical Requirements of Wine Cellars in Restaurants by Master Sommelier Yamir Pelegrino, President of the Club of Cuban Sommeliers, and Fernando Fernandez, respectively.
The event continues on Thursday with discussions, lectures and the presentation of new products. The Cuban National Wine Fair concludes today.
