There are 26 fish-raising farms in Cuba, distributed in all 14 provinces, where fries are raised to be planted in reservoirs.

There are seven farms in Sancti Spíritus, Camagüey, Las Tunas, Holguín and Granma, where shrimps are raised artificially.

The development of aquiculture also benefits from nearly nine billion cubic meters of water in reservoirs covering 140,000 hectares.
