An area of low pressure that is causing rain and strong winds in the Gulf of Mexico will be investigated by an Hurricane Hunter aircraft.
A Hurricane Hunter aircraft is expected to investigate the disturbance. The National Weather Service says there is less than a 30 percent chance the storm will become a tropical cyclone.
“We’ll get some more rain, but right now it doesn’t look like it’s going to strengthen,” Barron said, a National Weather Service meteorologist.
