The event, to be held at the Convention Center in the Cuban capital, will be dedicated to the world proletariat, the 70th anniversary of the Cuban Workers' Federation (CTC) and the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.

According to the Trabajadores weekly, some of the personalities that have already confirmed their presence in the meeting include George Mavrikus, General Secretary of the World Federation of Trade Unions, and Brendan Barber, General Secretary of the Trade Union Congress of Great Britain.

Also present will be John Sutton, President of the Trades Union International of Workers in the Building, Wood and Building Materials Industries, and Dang Ngoc Tung, head of the General Confederation of Trade Unions of Viet Nam.

Delegates to this event will also participate in the traditional May Day celebrations at Revolution Square in Havana.
