International Congress on Procedural Law in Havana
Specialists from Cuba's National Union of Jurists (UNJC) told ACN that participating experts come from Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and Uruguay.

They explained that after the opening ceremony and the first lectures, working sessions will be held until Thursday, in the Cuban capital's Hotel Nacional.

Debates will take place in the Commissions on Penal Process and Jurisdiction, and Civil and Family Processes, although the program also includes lectures and round tables.

The two themes are promoted by the Cuban Society of Procedural Law and Penal Sciences, which has also scheduled a conference entitled Chronicle of an Unjust Penal Process, by Roberto González, the brother of René, one of the five Cuban antiterrorism fighters incarcerated in the United States.

René González, along with Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, Gerardo Hernández and Ramón Labañino have been imprisoned for over 10 years, for monitoring the activities of Miami-based counterrevolutionary organizations, for the purpose of preventing terrorist actions against Cuba.
