New Zealander Foreign Trade Minister Tim Groser welcomed Cuban ambassador Jose Luis Robaina and exchanged views on the state of bilateral economic ties, and the possibilities to increase them.

Both sides assessed ways to strengthen economic, commercial, and technical-scientific cooperation.

New Zealand is Cuba's 5th trade partner in the Asia-Pacific region, with large exports of powder milk and communications equipment. New Zealand imports Cuban cigars, coffee, beverages, and shellfish.
