The festival will offer a special program that includes the screening of films shown at other film events held in the country, including the 30th International New Latin American Film Festival, the 8th Young Filmmakers Festival, the 10th International Documentary Film Festival "Santiago Alvarez in Memoriam" and the Caribbean Traveling Film Festival.
The program also includes the screening of the latest productions by the ICAIC Animation Studios and a selection of new foreign films, as well as film debates, workshops and several other cultural options, including such disciplines as music, fine arts and performing arts, according to the possibilities of each specific territory.
The film ´Ciudad en Rojo’ (image) by filmmaker Rebeca Chávez will have its premiere at the 5th Mountain Film Festival, which will also be dedicated to a classic Cuban film ‘Retrato de Teresa’ (Portrait of Teresa), by the late Cuban filmmaker Pastor Vega, on the 30th anniversary of its world premiere.
Like in previous similar events, this year’s mountain film festival includes activities in more than 200 mountainous communities.
