Important events for the movies in the 50th anniversary of the ICAIC, in Cuba

The moviemaker Rigoberto López presented in front of the accredited national and international press, the recently inaugurated II Itinerant Caribbean Movie Exhibition, dedicated to boys, girls and adolescents, which has already begun in Haiti and in which are to participate 31 countries, a number which almost doubles the countries that participated in the first one.
There are also underway the finishing touches of the eighth New producers Exhibition, dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the institution, and which is seeing an increase specially in the documentary and animation categories, while the ICAIC supports the Workshop of movie critic that is to be celebrated in Camagüey.
The Santiago Álvarez in Memoriam International Documentary festival reaches its tenth edition next March and the preparations for it are almost over. It will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the great documentary maker and the 50th anniversary of the important ICAIC News report.
This institution is also preparing the V Movie Festival in the Mountains and the seventh edition of the Low Budget Festival, an event which will still be hold in the city of Gibara in Holguín, where huge efforts are taking place to recover the town, which was severely damaged by the hurricanes.
After the triumph in January 1959, the ICAIC became one of the first culture institutions created by the Revolution in March of that same year.
