The province supplies large volumes of limestone, which is used in the iron and steel industry to isolate components that affect the quality of steel.

This year's plan includes supplying 7,000 tons of limestone to the iron and steel plants of Antillana de Acero and ACINOX.

In addition, 20,000 tons of limestone will go to the Siguaney plant, the only factory that produces white cement in Cuba.

A new line will be assembled to produce mortar, which is highly demanded in the construction sector in Central America and the Caribbean.
