2009 Cuban National Ballet Company Schedule
The public will enjoy beautiful ballets, such as ‘La avanzada’ (Great Leap Forward) with choreography by Azari Plisetski on the original by Barcovski and music by Alexander Alexandrov; ´A la caída de la tarde’ with choreography by Alicia Alonso and music by José Dolores Cerón and the second act of ‘Nutcracker’, choreographed by Alonso on the original by Lev Ivánov.

On January 3rd and 4th, the BNC will perform the ballet ‘Bhakti’, with choreography by Maurice Béjart and music by Eduardo Blanco and the group Luna Negra.

The world-prestigious Cuban ballet company, directed by prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso will hold presentations on February 6 and 7 and later, from the 12th through the 15th.

Also at the García Lorca Hall, the BNC will dance the ballet ‘Giselle’, with presentations from March 6th through the 8th and later, from the 12th through the 14th. The Cuban version of ‘Giselle’ was choreographed by Alicia Alonso, on the original by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot.

The National Ballet Company will go on stage again from April 16th through the 19th and later, from the 23rd through the 26th with the ballet ‘Sleeping Beauty’, also choreographed by Alicia Alonso on the original by Marius Petipa.
