Head of the program Adolfo Rodriguez Nodal told the Cuban News Agency that over 9,884 acres of vegetable gardens were damaged.

He termed vital the role played by State institutions and political and mass organizations in joining hands for the prompt recovery of these plots devoted to sowing, and said the presence of 10 types of vegetables at selling points is a sign of their achievement.

Rodriguez asserted that the program will achieve the target set for year 2008 of 1.34 million metric tons of fresh vegetables and spices and 12,000 tons of pork.

We are working hard so that December can be considered one of the best months in the sector in all municipalities, he said.
