Ana Bécles, delegate of the Ministry of Foreign Investment and Economic Collaboration, said the main purpose is the need to promote sales abroad and to the domestic market in hard currency, especially the potential, which has its greatest strength in tourism, industry and services.
She highlighted the rise of Holguin’s tourism, up 10 percent in its operations in the first season of 2008 and projections in the near future to raise hotel capacity, now with more than 4,800 rooms.
The province currently has twelve official businesses and other possibilities opening up for industrial production, including joint ventures and partnerships.
This year the fair will award the categories of quality and product design, stand design, best management and best business associate member of the Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Vivian Rodriguez Gordin, president of the Provincial Assembly of People’s Power in the province of Holguin, expressed confidence in the organizers and entrepreneurs to hold a successful fair, especially at this time of continued economic advance in Holguin.
