Active Tourist Season in Holguin
According to experts, 214,000 vacationers, 50 percent of whom came from Canada, visited the province during the first eight months of the year.

That number accounted for a 10-percent increase in tourist arrivals until Hurricane Ike hit the region. Despite natural disasters, authorities expect 268,000 foreign tourists will visit Holguín this year.

The province has more than 4,800 hotel rooms, which are complemented by a network of extrahotel establishments.

In addition, tourists can enjoy a wide range of options, including nautical sports, cultural activities and the so-called Paradise Island on Cayo Saetía.
