In primary schools and the administration structure of that teaching level there are 122 teachers and 38 assistants who were on retirement due mainly to economic reasons.
In secondary education, there are currently sciences and humanities advisors, who were on retirement, contributing their experience to the scientific and methodological work of the newly-graduated professors.
Also in the daycare centres and senior high schools, occupational schools, special schools and technical-professional schools and schools for adults the number of professionals has grown with the reincorporation.
Taking into consideration the lack of teachers and professors in the country, the Cuban state decided to pay the pensioners, on top of the pension, the whole salary according to their new position.
