The festival began at the Slotbio Coffee-Theater with the screening of the prize-winning film ‘Fresa y Chocolate’ (Strawberry and Chocolate) by late director Tomas Gutierrez Alea.

The festival will run through next Sunday and it includes the screening of five fiction films, 14 documentaries and 12 animation short movies.

Present in the inauguration of the event were the Cuban Ambassador in Denmark, Guillermo Vazquez Moreno; Peter Neesbeth, from the Mayor’s Office of the city; and ICAIC Vice President Luis Alberto Gonzalez Nieto.

The festival also includes the exhibition of 22 of the most emblematic posters in the history of Cuban cinema.
