Cubas Historical First Victory in World Cup
According to a report from the World Cup’s official website, the Salomon team surprised the Caribbean team with an early goal by Rangono in the first minute. After recovering from the first shock, Yuliet Olivera scored in the third minute, followed by Carlos Madrigal´s in the sixth, to give Cuba a lead it never lost again.

Yulier Olivera, Carlos Madrigal, Olivera, Boris Saname and Eduardo Morales all scored for the Cubans to make it 5-1 at the interval. In the 27th minute, the Solomons' defeat was fairly well complete, with Morales scoring two more goals and and Johnnet Martinez adding one of his own. Morales went on to add another before Mesa made it 1-0 for the men from CONCACAF.

In the dying moments, Ragomo added a bit of scant consolation with his second goal of the match for the outgunned Solomon Island In that same A Group, Brasil hammered Japan 12-1 with two goals a piece by Lenisio, Ari, Falcao and Schumacher, and Marquinho, Wilde, Betao and Cico scored once each.
