Suriname Foreign Minister Lygia Kraag-Keteldjjk made the announcement on behalf of President Ronald R. Venetiaan at a meeting with Cuban Ambassador Andres Gonzalez Garrido.

Kraag-Keteldjjk said Suriname wishes to make its modest contribution from a poor country to help a sister country in its plight and regretted the damages and seven deaths.

Ambassador Gonzalez Garrido thanked the gesture saying that Suriname joins the movement of solidarity with Cuba to ease the hurricane aftermaths.
