Cuban Film on Jose Marti Now Shooting by Cuba and Spanish TV
The film is named Jose Marti, the Eye of the Canary, with script and direction by Fernando Perez and original score by singer-composer Edesio Alejandro.

Leading roles will be performed by the boy Damian Antonio Rodríguez (part of Marti´s childhood) and the second-year student of acting at the National School of Arts, Daniel Romero (adolescence).

The parents of the Apostle of Cuban Independence will be represented by experienced actors Rolando Brito and Broselinda Hernandez, while Julio Cesar Ramirez will give life to the role of Manuel Maria Mendive, influential teacher of the Cuban hero.

Locations of the film are in Old Havana, Guanabacoa, Cerro and Regla quarters, although other sceneries could include Matanzas province and the Havana municipality of San Antonio de los Banos, among others.

The movie is produced by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry, Wanda Productions and Spanish TV (TV Espanola).
