The flag was hoisted during a solemn ceremony in the presence of the all members of the island's sports delegation, led by Cuban Olympic Committee president Jose Ramon Fernandez and Sports Institute head Christian Jimenez.

Their happiness made that guests and sportspeople from other nations join the ceremony.

Several Cuban athletes told Prensa Latina the decision of returning home with honor, as the message sent to Cuban revolution leader Fidel Castro says.
