The UN official pointed out that other countries should follow Cuba's footsteps in this regard, in order to assure the access of all young people to higher education.
"The Cuban university is a consolidated university, which maintains exchanges with other centers for higher studies from around the world, whether to share its experiences or to receive them from others", indicated Gazzola.
"Cuba has always been an ally of UNESCO and of its International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean," she stressed.
Gazzola made reference to the need for consolidating and expanding that large higher education network, in order to advance with the advantages of a bloc in today's world.
Moreover, the head of UNESCO's Higher Education Division, Dr. George Haddad, considered this university model interesting, and he was confident that in a few years, sooner than later, it will be an example that will bear fruit.
