The festival takes place in all the country's provincial capitals and cities like Nueva Gerona (Isle of Youth), San Jose, Artemisa (Havana province), Moron (Ciego de Avila), Puerto Padre (Las Tunas) and Manzanillo (Granma).
Havana residents along the 23rd Avenue will have the opportunity to attend concerts, sports exhibitions, readings by narrators and poets, screening of Cuban films, launching of magazines, and book sales.
National Literature award winners Abelardo Estorino (1992), Miguel Barnet (1994), Pablo Armando Fernandez (1996), Carilda Oliver Labra (1997), Cesar Lopez (1999), Anton Arrufat (2000) and Nancy Morejon (2001) are expected to read fragments of their works.
An important moment will be the sale of postcards with love poems written by Nicolas Guillen, illustrated with paintings from outstanding Cuban artists like Ernesto Garcia Peña, Eduardo Roca (Choco) and Rocio Garcia.
