Dayron Robles
Cuban hurdler Dayron Robles broke the world record of the 110 hurdles meters with a chrono of 12.87 seconds at the Grand Prix of Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Robles, 21-year-old a runner, reduced the world record in a hundredth, since the record was in the hands of Chinese Liu Xiang since July 11, 2006 in Switzerland.

Robles got his best performance in Stuttgart, Germany, on September 23, 2007 and won the fifth World Championship finals.

Another Cuban hurdler was the owner of the world record, Alejandro Casañas, who got 13.21 seconds in the World University Games in Sofia, Bulgaria, on August 21, 1977.

Robles, also World Indoor Champion in Moscow, in 2006, becomes the sixth Cuban athlete with a world record, after triple jumper Pedro Perez Dueñas, runners Alberto Jauntorena and Alejandro Casañas, high jumper Javier Sotomayor and female athlete Osleydis Menendez.

Only Sotomayor (2.45 meters in high jump) and Osleydis Menendez (javelin, 71.70 meters) are the ones still holding their universal records.
