Nearly fifty Cuban specialists have received training on rice producing high technologies at the International Cooperation Agency in Japan, a Japanese expert said.
Technical adviser Hara Masaka also told Prensa Latina that as part of a collaboration program with the Island since 2002, 48 Cubans have been trained in the Japanese institution so far.
They visited facilities and universities and saw first hand experimental rice farming in Japan, thus acquiring experience in the field.
The expert, who is attending the 4th International Meeting on Rice at the Havana Convention Center, termed very valuable the cooperation among producers and researchers in view of soaring prices of this staple food.
