 First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura Heads Cuban Delegation to World Summit on Food Security
Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) that takes place there on June 3-5 under the slogan ‘The Challenges of 'Climate Change and Bio-Energy'.

According to Granma news daily, the Cuban delegation is also comprised of VP Esteban Lazo; the head of the Foreign Relations Department at the Central Committee of Cuba’s Communist Party, Fernando Remirez de Estenoz; Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque; Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Deputy Minister Orlando Requeijo Gual; and the Cuban Ambassador to FAO, Enrique Moret.

Last May 22nd, an extraordinary session of the Human Rights Council convened by Cuba and with the overwhelming support of other nations, asked this high level assembly to take concrete measures to cope with the serious challenges that the world faces today due to the current international food crisis.

Machado Ventura will speak in the plenary session of the event and will hold bilateral meetings with other heads of delegations.
