other areas, Shakhnazarov told Prensa Latina.
He mentioned an agreement penned with the Cuban Culture Ministry Cuba for a long-time collaboration program that includes the organization of a script contest for Cuban script writers and the possibility to co-produce films.
We also have the intention to fund an exclusively Cuban project,
involving Russian actors and actresses, and we want to start shooting
next Autumn, he revealed.
The screening of Russian films in the Havana Film Festival is also under
study, and we have invited ICAIC (the Cuban Film Institute) to visit
Moscow in June, he stressed.
Asked about the possibility of a reappearance of Russian serials on
Cuban TV, Shakhnazarov said some steps will have to be taken in this
regard after a 17-year recess.
This is just a first step, he said, at the end of the showing of his
film "A Rider Named Death" (2004) at the Charles Chaplin movie theatre, which opened a retrospective of 12 of his films made in 1979-2008.
