In Cuba the Aged Adults University:  57,767 People have been Graduated in Six Years
Our country currently has 877 university departments in urban, rural and fishing zones, in which about 57,767 people have been graduated in six years.

Nearly 1,064 professors and lecturers work voluntarily in the project with no salary.

Aged students are receiving courses on computer, sexuality, human aging, environment, alternative medicine, first aids, social communication, right and duties of housing, history of the locality, and geography.

According to a document published by the Cuban Workers Federation (CTC), the current 2007-2008 academic course has 14,711 students.

At present, some 9,107 graduates join programs to deepen their knowledge, the text states.

The project, the document notes, works in university, schools, culture houses, factories, museums, retirement homes, as well as prison centers and associations for people with disabilities.

The project is presided over by the Higher Education Ministry and comprised of the CTC, the Association of Cuban Teachers, the Public Health Ministry, the Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, and the Culture Ministry.
