Parliament Energy and Environment Committee Set up in Cuba
In seating the 32-member committee, Alarcon said the legislators agenda must deal with two of the worlds leading problems, energy savings and environmental protection, whose solutions require the active participation of the population, reported Granma newspaper.

The committee is headed by Hector Eligio Amigo Carcases with Jose Maria Rubiera Torres as vice president. Yudity Arias Sarmiento, chair of the Youth Technical Brigades is the secretary.

The members were received detailed information Monday on the nations energy revolution, the production of oil and gas, and the prospects for the use of renewable energy sources.

Also attending the first session of the parliamentary committee was Jaime Crombet, the parliaments vice president.
