Preparations continue for Cubas longest rumba
Cuban rumba dancers and drummers will take on the great challenge in the eastern city of Holguín, beginning at 9:00 p.m. on May 3rd and concluding also at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17th.

The rumba will also be played and danced in other 14 Cuban cities island wide, with the national radio station Radio Progreso serving as the link among all venues.

Just as the Worlds Longest Son was held in 2004, this years rumba event will serve to promote several players and dancers of the musical genre.

Prior to the event, the International Cubadisco Festival will be held at the Havana Karl Marx theatre, with Africa as the guest of honor.

Likewise, the event will also pay homage to late Cuban drummers Tata Güines (1930-2008) and Chano Pozo (1915-1948), and to all the other great Cuban drummers.
