Relate cordial in the trade between Cuba and India
The diplomat spoke of the island's facilities and business perspectives at a seminar on India, Latin America and the Caribbean: Big Trade and Investment Opportunities.

The event, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and sponsored by the Foreign Ministry, have been attended by representatives from Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic, Surinam and Trinidad and Tobago and Indian businessmen.

Ramirez emphasized that the Cuban economy has grown up 42.5 percent from 2004 to 2007.

Investments have grown 16.8 percent, while agricultural production has grown 24.7 percent, industry 7.8, transportation 7.9, and services 11.7 percent, he said.

New business opportunities have been opened in tourism, mining, basic industry, biotechnology, fuel and energetic and transportation, the ambassador stressed.

He added that the Cuban government is planning to build 100,000 houses, and has engaged in other construction projects.

Ramirez emphasized that 237 international economic associations with companies from Spain, Canada, Italy, France, China, Venezuela and Great Britain, are operating in Cuba.

Other business possibilities include joint ventures, 100-percent foreign capital's companies, cooperation-production contracts and administration and management.
