Ghana's Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama noted his country's interest in Cuba's energy.

In an interview with Cuban Basic Industry Minister Yadira Garcia, the visitor highlighted the importance of energy development.
His agenda includes meeting with Vice President Esteban Lazo and other state and government officials to strengthen bilateral ties; he will also visit places of economic and scientific interest.
Mahama, who will end his visit on February 24, recalled Ghana's long and good friendship with Cuba.
As part of cooperation, 187 Cubans work in the western African country and 35 nationals study in Cuban universities, 14 of them in medicine. Some 1,183 Ghanaian professionals have studied in Cuba, including 639 at universities.
