The case of the Cuban Five will be presented once again to the American public on February 12 and 13, this time in the US state of Vermont.

According to a wire from the Cuban News Agency that quotes the website www.antiterroristas.cu, Vermont Law Schools National Lawyers Guild and Burlington Colleges Institute for Civic Engagement have been working hard to educate and inform the law school community there about the case of the anti-terrorist fighters.

Attorney Leonard Weinglass and Gloria La Riva, director of the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five, will host the events at Vermont Law Schools Chase Hall on Tuesday, February 12 at 5 p.m., and at the Waterfront Theatre at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Weinglass and La Riva will discuss their work in the struggle to achieve justice and freedom for Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, Ramón Labañino, Gerardo Hernández and René González, internationally known as the "Cuban Five". These men have been wrongfully imprisoned in the United States since 1998.

The events, for the first time in the state of Vermont, have been organized by law student Jared Carter, and are sponsored by the National Lawyers Guild.

The Vermont Guild believes that greater awareness and participation in the struggle for justice will "make the world a better place for all."
