The President of the Cuban National Assembly, Ricardo Alarcon,  Meets with Dominican Parlamentarians.
Alarcon and Julio Cesar Valentin, head of the Dominican legislative body, analyzed ways to strengthen bilateral ties between the two entities and also exchanged opinions about several aspects of the reality in both countries.

The peoples of Cuba and the Dominican Republic have strong historic bonds; cultural, political, solidarity and trade ties that will continue to strengthen,á€Â said Valentin.

The visiting delegation is also comprised of deputies Juan Compres, president of the Cuba-Dominican Republic Friendship Parliamentary Group; Agnes Berenice, of the Social Christian Reformist Party; Marino Mendoza, of the Dominican Revolutionary Party; and Jose Taveras, of the National Progressive Party.

Also present in the meeting were the Dominican ambassador in Cuba, Daniel Guerrero, and Ramon Pez Ferro, president of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Cuban Parliament, among others.

The agenda of the vistors includes meetings with local authorities and visits to places of economic, historic and social interest in the Cuban capital and in the neighboring province of Matanzas. / ACN
