Novels, short stories and books of poetry penned by some of the world's best authors of all times like Dylan Thomas, Rabindranath Tagore, Bertold Brecht, Robert Luis Stevenson, José Martí, Marcel Proust, Gabriel García Márquez and Arthur Conan Doyle are part of the catalogue of the 17th Havana's International Book Fair due for February 13th through March 9th

Arte y Literatura publishing house, with a four-decade history devoted to the world best literature, has announced the launch of three books of poetry by Americans writers Richard Wrigth, Edgar Lee Masters and Dylan Thomas. Cuban authors translated the volumes.

In all, Arte y Literatura label will put out seven poetry editions including works by German Bertold Brecht and Indian Rabindranath Tagore. Lourdes González, director of the publishing house, said that the wide spectrum of nationalities of the authors suits the label's interest in publishing quality texts from different parts of the globe.

Among the 36 titles printed by Arte y Literatura specifically for this year's Book Fair, five are penned by Galician writers. No coincidence at all since the event is paying homage to this Spanish autonomous region.

And last but not least, the publishing house will issue Portuguese José Saramago's most recent novel Historia del cerco de Lisboa as well as One Hundred Years of Solitude, the most famous novel by Colombian Gabriel García Márquez. In addition to the volumes by these two Nobel Prize winners, Arte y Literatura has published Sodoma y Gomorra, by French Marcel Proust, a book with excellent reviews for its original approach to sexuality. The catalogue also includes writers of the like of Arthur Conan Doyle, Ken Kesey, Wilkie Collins and Gore Vidal.

Meanwhile, Gente Nueva publishing house, the Cuban label specializing in children and youth's literature, is issuing a number of works by Cuban José Martí, American Mark Twain, Italian Carlo Collodi and Venezuelan Horacio Quiroga among other writers.

Havana's Book Fair organizers have announced that eight and a half million of books will be on sale. Novelties amount to over one thousand titles.
