Holguin Increased its Teledensity

The teledensity increased to 5.46 connections per 100 inhabitants in Holguín, which is the most obvious balance of the work done by the workers of ETECSA during 2007 in this province in the east of the island.
Holguin also increased the public phone booths by 369, to achieve 2.63 per thousand residents and increased by 169 the connections for data transmission.
The creation of 45 Centros Agentes in communities of more than 300 people was significant, in cities and mountains, from where calls can be made, even an ambulance if needed.
Also, n places like Mayarí, Urbano Noris, Buenaventura and Báguano were digitalized. At the time, the cable network in Mayari plant was expanded which facilitated growth.
The ETECSA group in Holguin reached 92.25 percent of the digitization in the commutation of the province and complete transmission in the cities.
Today there are 17 major cities and towns in the territory with a digital telephone plant.
