100 Hours with Fidel, 2007 Bestseller
The book One Hundred Hours with Fidel was highly sought by readers during 2007 after its presentation in 19 Book Fairs in Latin America, Europe and Asia, noted AIN.

The book was the result of an interview of the Cuban leader by Spanish-French writer and journalist Ignacio Ramonet and has been reedited several times and corrected, and enriched by the Cuban President himself.

Mirta Gonzalez, president of the Cuban Book Chamber told AIN that 2007 marked an outstanding difference of Cuba participation in international book fairs.

At least officially, the Chamber appeared first at Beijing Fair, China, noted Gonzalez who referred to the program developed by writers and editors at Libber, Spain and Frankfurt, Germany fairs, the most important of Europe.

Cuba participated along with Venezuela, by virtue of bilateral agreements in the cultural environment and as part of the Bolivarian Alternative of the Americas (ALBA), which contributed to deeply enhance exhibition samples.

Over hundreds of editors and 80 Cuban writers took part in the events, and many presented their books and attended conferences on the current literature of the Island.

Cuba officially announced the 17th Havana Book Fair that will begin on February 14.
