New web page in honour of the 280 years of Havana University.

A web page dedicated to the 280 years of Havana University was opened in the following address: www.uh.cu280 .
Milagro Martínez, executive secretary of the Organizing Commission of the celebration, explained to AIN that in this digital site people will be able to know all the activities dedicated to the celebration as well as other historic data of interest. In this web site people will be also able to find the current situation of the centre and the future perspectives.
The web site will also include statistics of the graduates in the years after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, information about national personalities who have studied in its class rooms and the active participation of the Cuban students in the liberation struggle.
Another achievement presented in this interactive site will be the extension of the number careers that are nowadays in 90. It is a great increase when we compare it with the number of careers given in the first university the Real y Pontifica Universidad de San Jerónimo of Havana, the original name given to the centre of high studies founded the five of January 1728.
She specified that among the important meetings to be held in the celebration, there is a workshop titled La Universidad de La Habana 280 años de creada (Havana University, 280 years of creation), where the Historian of the City, Eusebio Leal will give a lecture about the historicity of the university.
A commemorative stamp with the image of the Aula Magna hall of the Havana University will also be issued, in honour of this date.
