Tabío shoots again
Havana, Santa Cruz del Norte, Santa María del Rosario, Bejucal... these are some of the location through which Juan Carlos Tabíos shooting team is moving around these days. He has started shooting El cuerno de la abundacia (The horn of abundance), a full length feature film coproduced between the Instituto Cubano de Arte e Indutria Cinematográficos (Cuban Institute for the Arts and Cinematographic Industry) (ICAIC in Spanish) and the Spanish producing company Tornasol Films.

Tabío, who is the director of important movies (Fresa y chocolate (Strawberry and Chocolate)- together with Tomás Gutiérrez Alea-, Plaff, Lista de espera (Waiting List)...), enters again into the world of comedy, this time starting from a script that he himself wrote together with the writer Arturo Arango, one of his usual collaborators.

Some of the more than thirty actors that were called are also regulars in his movies: Jorge Perugorría, Enrique Molina, Laura de la Uz, Annia Bú Maure, Tahimí Alvariño, Paula Alí, Vladimir Cruz, Mirta Ibarra, Bárbaro Marín, Patricio Wood.... Photography will be in charge of the Spaniard Hans Burman. The shooting time is estimated to be around eight weeks.

The movie from Tabío is added to the list of new productions that the ICAIC has announced for next year, which also include Kangamba (Rogelio Paris); Los dioses rotos (The broken Gods) (Ernesto Daranas); Te espero en la eternidad (I wait for you in eternity) (Enrique Pineda Barnet); El viajero inmóvil (The still traveler) (Tomás Piard); Rojo vivo (Bright Red) (Rebeca Chávez), among others to reach more than ten.
