Over 1,500 Figures Reject US-Cuba Blockade

Over 1,500 US figures, among them Fox Music president Robert Kraft and folk legend Bonnie Rait joined voices to demand George W. Bush lift the blockade on Cuba.
Kraft, one of the leaders of the US music industry, opposed all manipulation to impede cultural relations among both countries.
"The intrinsic value of an artistic relationship with Cuban friends cannot be rejected," he stated. "The intellectual, artistic and musical influence Cuban culture exercises in the US creativity are deep and must continue and be supported."
The call, in response to a letter from Cuban Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso to her US colleagues to request actions and lift the US siege against the island, found rapid and massive sympathy.
Andy Spahn, one of the most outstanding Hollywood executives, Bruce Labadie, president of the San Jose Jazz Festival, Jacira Castro, director of the Salsa Power, Latin Cool Records members Chuy Varela and David Wasserman, as well as musicians, actors, filmmakers, businesspeople and academics joined the document.
