Vida will be staged at Havana's Mella theatre

The Lizt Alfonso Ballet show, Vida, will be staged at the renovated Mella Theater in January, 2008, constituting its premier in Cuba, following successful performances at the legendary Royal Alexandra Theater of Toronto in June.
The big format dance and musical show contextualizes various choreographies by the company, mixing them with new ideas, to evoke the memories of a Cuban grandmother named Vida, who, at the end of her life, wants to pass all her legacy on to her granddaughter Alma.
Vida and Alma will guide the audience through a story of the past, present and future the way the Lizt Alfonso Ballet has always conducted its shows.
The Havana staging will include the company, its principal soloists, the corps de ballet and a musical group, singers Omara Portuondo and Ele Valdés and other guests who also performed in Toronto.
